Something Big is Happening In The USA

March 23, 2013

At least four Qassam rockets were fired at southern Israel from Gaza Thursday morning on Day 2 of President Barack Obama’s visit to Israel. Obama was nowhere near the targeted towns of Sderot and Shaar Hanegev, but Israelis have no doubt the message was aimed at him.

This is not something that would have happened just a few decades ago and goes to show the disheartening apparent fall from power of the USA, that Palestinians fired rockets on the day of his visit is a clear sign that the opinions of the President of the USA no longer matter in the Middle East.

Not only has the US immersed its troops in operations involving some 120 countries, and making many enemies in  the process, it has also appropriated Trillions of Dollars from its coffers to do so, financially speaking the war on terrorism has been a disaster.

The United States is facing economic disaster on an unprecedented scale few nations have ever experienced before. Most of its citizens are currently unaware of the easily observable signs of the crisis before them.

U.S. exports are declining versus imports all across the board, even agriculture posted a deficit this past year for the first time in living memory as Americans no longer produce what they need to sustain themselves, they import much more than they export and are selling off their assets and taking on super massive debts to sustain a standard of living they can no longer afford.

The depth of the recent employment recession has been,  so far, worse than any other post-war recession and only added to the  lingering effects of the housing and financial crisis, with this in mind America would need to create about 200,000 jobs per month for nearly three straight years just to get the employment level up to the 2007 level, which wasn’t that good to start with.

greatdepression

According to a report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, In the month of January, California was tied with Rhode Island for having the highest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of any state in the nation at 9.8 percent.

With home values projected to continue to move downward almost 11 million home buyers owe more money on their houses  than what they are worth,  3.5 million more homeowners are behind in their mortgage payments and another 1.5 million homes are in the foreclosure process.

Manufacturing as a share of the economy has been plummeting, From a high of 53% of the economy in 1965 to low of 39% by 1988, by 2004, manufacturing only accounted for a miserable 9%.

When one adds it all together the loss of their manufacturing industry has caused the loss of millions of jobs in America over the last few decades, fewer jobs means fewer houses are sold and more are lost to foreclosure; the unstoppable takeover by globalization and outsourcing (subject of next blog) is slowly choking America’s lower and middle classes.

Americans did not take notice at first, because first it was the toys, shoes and clothing industries that lost their jobs to cheap foreign competition, soon enough however the higher-paid shipbuilders and steel producers jobs were also going overseas and in the last few years  the auto workers and various other smaller industries have gone to India and Asia.

Even the jobs of a High-Tech society such as engineers, computer software scientists and aerospace manufacturers are all now under threat from nations whose people work for wages which are on average 10-20 times less than those of western standards.

The American National Debt as of March 22nd,2013
US National Debt

Since September 28, 2007,  the American National Debt has continued to increase an average of $3.87 Billion Dollars per day  with a debt per citizen of $53,036; not that this matters much, because the real debt that should be looked at is the “per tax-payer debt” which currently stands at $147,748 per working, tax paying citizen, that is a massive amount.

This means that unless  some truly drastic measures are taken then without a doubt sometime in the not too distant future America just has to go bust,  estimates range from 5 to 15 years but only a very foolish government would not begin to prepare for such an eventuality as soon as possible.

If the government goes bankrupt, American’s life savings could be reduced to nothing almost overnight resulting in an extremely volatile, confused, and frustrated populace,  Under those circumstances, widespread rioting and violent crime seem entirely plausible.

Homeland Security

Homeland Security Seal

The US government is expanding a cyber security program that scans internet traffic headed into and out of defense contractors to include much more of the country’s private and civilian-run infrastructure.

New into the fold of the All-Seeing-Eye are  more private sector employees, including those at big banks, utilities and key transportation companies, they will have their emails and web surfing scanned  “as a precaution”  against cyber attacks.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will gather the secret data and pass it to a small group of telecommunication companies and cyber security providers that have employees holding security clearances, government and industry officials said.

Homeland Security is also taking delivery of an as yet undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the United States. They are resistant to IEDs, mine blasts, and 50 caliber hits to bullet-proof glass.

Expensive War Surplus

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement , a federal law enforcement agency under the United States Department of Homeland Security has placed an order for over 650 million rounds of ammunition over the next five years, since it has some 20,000 employees, that makes it 32,500 rounds per Officer meaning they are expected to fire their weapons 6500 times per year?.

In contrast, the Social Security Administration posted a notice that it was buying 174,000 hollow point bullets for its 295 agents, some 590 bullets each and the National Marine Fisheries Service, which is tasked with “protecting fish stocks from depletion,” has procured 46,000 hollow-point bullets for its 63 fisheries service enforcement agents, that’s 730 bullets per officer.

It didn’t make Americans feel any better when, they learned that the DHS has also spent some $2,000,000 buying “no hestitation” targets depicting old folks, pregnant women, and small children holding guns.  The purpose behind this type of target it is to train law enforcement officials to overcome their instinctive reluctance to fire on those soft targets.

The U.S. Army has also been preparing for rebellion in the streets, and a Military Police training manual, entitled “Civil Disturbance Operations” describes how to suppress riots and kill civilians when confronting “dissidents.” The manual states, “Warning shots will not be fired,”
